Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where we list top bookish things.
Super Favoritisticexpialidocious!
- In the Shadow of Blackbirds by Cat Winters: I can not even believe this book was a debut novel! It just stunned me by how wonderfully written it was! It’s one of those books that could prove to any hater that YA def. has some gems!
- Crewel by Gennifer Albin: Holy mother of giraffe balls! That is all.
- The Last Bastion of the Living by Rhiannon Frater: This was just insanely awesome and unique and brilliant! And this reminds me I have yet to read the companion novel she recently released *slaps self*
- This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers: This is the first book I read by Summers and have since read and loved all her others, too. She’s just that kind of author who was born to write (I want to add “for me” :P)!
- Cress by M
: This whole series is fantastic, but this 3rd one is my favorite of all (we’ll see if Winter one-ups it). The story is exciting and very well thought out, but the character building is what I praise the most!
- Sins & Needles by Karina Halle: This book made me a forever-fan of this author. It’s the kind of (rare for me) read where you think about the story and characters constantly even when you’re not reading it, as if they were really living.
- Vicious by V.E. Schwab: The writing in this book is what makes it stand out from all the others in its genre. It’s addicting and dark and twisted and I just loved it!
- Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake: While I was a big fan of book 1, this sequel was in another level completely for me. This is the book I often think about when the talk of endings come up. I found this ending to be so perfectly executed for what this story is meant to be!
- Siege by Rhiannon Frater: This series and I made babies.
- Sunrise by Mike Mullin: This is another of my favorite endings in a series ever. This whole story, from book 1, was just so intense, yet paced in a way that really made you fall in love with the characters.
What are some of your favorite books EVER?

I’ve only read 3 books out of your list, Giselle. I feel like a failure now. Haha. 😀
I really liked Crewel too, but the series went downhill for me after that. All that romantic nonsense ruined the story for me. I sure do love Cress, but I have a softer spot for Scarlet (BECAUSE WOLF! <3).
I recently read A Darker Shade of Magic, so I'm thinking I need to read Vicious too because I love the author's writing.
Great list, Giselle!

Don’t feel bad. I haven’t read any of them yet! I have a lot of work to do! ;/
Allie @ Little Birdie
Oh Girl of Nightmares!! I love Anna Dressed in Blood and was so happy to find out there was a sequel. I didn’t love it as much, but it was still amazing
Ramona
Before I Die, Jenny Downham. Chime, Franny Billingsley. The Scorpio Races, Maggie Stiefvater.
Mansfield Park, Jane Austen. A Tale of Two Cities. I don’t know, Giselle 🙂 There are so many I can hardly put together a list – it would take so long! Great post – all of the books listed are attention-grabbers.

Vicious and Cress are absolutely fantastic!
Kayla @ The Thousand Lives
Vicious is on my list today as well! I fell in love with Schwab’s writing after that one, and I’m about to get into ADSOM later on this month. I can’t wait!
Dani

Aimee @ Deadly Darlings
I just need to read In the Shadow of Blackbirds! I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about it, but honestly, the pictures in the book are creeping me out a bit. xD I WILL GET TO THIS SOMEDAY, though. 😀
“Holy mother of giraffe balls!” Yep, definitely going to re-try reading Crewel sometime soon!
Cress was brilliant! There’s just something about this series that makes me flip page after page and get completely sucked into the story. Plus I ship Scarlet and Wolf so hard! AND Captain Thorne is definitely my kind of guy.
I loved both Girl of Nightmares and Anna Dressed in Blood! This was my first YA horror read, and I guess it has a special place in my heart for that. Plus Cas is just <3. (The ending made me really sad, but it was nice!)
Thanks for sharing, Giselle! <33

Cress was so super duper good. Great list.
Heather
I think Cress is my favourite Lunar Chronicles book too. I hadn’t heard of most of these, so there are definitely lots for me to look into.
Katherine
I love Cress! Marissa Meyer is writing a fabulous series so far. I haven’t read Girl of Nightmares yet, but I read Anna Dressed in Blood last year and enjoyed it. And Vicious is also a top priority book for me. Great list!
Meredith
The Shadow of Blackbirds and Girl of Nightmares are a major YES!
Benish

Someone recommended Karina Halle to Me. I’m definitely going to try Sins and Needles. Great list, Giselle!
Megan @ Reading Books Like a Boss
The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay and the Fever series definitely stand out for me!
Lyn Kaye
This is Not a Test has to be my favorite zombie novel. That novel was so perfectly creepy and still socially relevant.
