The Best of the Evil!

We all love a good, well crafted villain. Well I do, anyways. On this week’s Book Girls Don’t Cry we’re talking about fictional villains, and which ones are in our list of favorites.

—The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins [President Snow]: Really! Who didn’t love to hate this man? I mean, his fixation on Katniss is nothing if not completely creepy. And his control over her makes it all the worse. I wanted nothing more than to see him go down!

All the Things I Do Not Love!

I actually cringed at titling this post as such – Least Favorite Part of Blogging – because we should all love everything about our hobby, right? Well if you’ve been around for a little bit, you’ll start noticing that it’s not always unicorns and rainbows up in this hood. Let’s see what I don’t particularly love about blogging. I was initially going to list in bullet points my least favorite aspects, but then they sort of all blended together…

All Those Reviews That I Write!

A few weeks ago we posted our habits for reading reviews, this week we decided to do one about writing reviews. We all have our own styles and habits, and I actually find it very interesting how others go about writing reviews so differently, too. Like, I’m in awe when someone can read a book and write a review months later. Or how some have the most difficultly with 5 star reviews.

Let’s start with that, actually: reviews that are the hardest to write. The most often I hear is people who find it hardest to…

Books I’m Missing Out On (Apparently)!

This week we decided to do a top ten style discussion post on the books we should have read but still haven’t because; top lists are fun, and you all get to chide us for being late in many ball fields, or something. So these are my top 10 books (ok I cheated and there’s 8- whatevs!) I should have read by now. PS – You can click on the cover for their Goodreads’ page!

Review Reading Made Complicated!

Do you find yourself avoiding certain reviews or hiding from Goodreads when you want to be completely unswayed about a certain book? We’re wondering how many share the same habits for reading reviews – hence the reason for our topic  this week! I’m particular about which reviews I’ll read and when. For instance, if I know I will be starting a book in the next couple of weeks, I’ll avoid reading reviews on it. I love going into it with zero expectations. A lot of the time I don’t even refresh my awful memory by re-reading the blurb,…

All About Yours Truly!

After seeing a guest post by an author listing random/fun facts about their books, we thought it would be fun to implement it as a topic where we list fun facts about ourselves… except we’ve deduced we’re pretty boring so far, so this may not have been a good idea after all >.<

When I stumbled upon Facebook for the first time it was when I found it open on my husband’s computer (though we weren’t married yet). I got mad at him for making an account on a dating site and made him delete…

Bookshelf Tour – AKA: A Call For Help!

Ok first I have to warn you this will be scary. You may leave this blog today feeling jittery, and twitching at the horror these images will bring. You have been warned. Signed – Messy Shelfer

Voila, my shelves! *cringes*

How do I organize my books? Sometimes people ask me that. Well, I don’t O_O But, look! They’re still alive back there! It’s like book prison! Oh my god am I torturing my books? *sobs*

They did used to be all alphabetized –…
