DON’T @ ME. I AM 2000s GARBAGE and to be honest, my top 20 is always shifting depending on my mood. Anyway, I am just gonna embrace my identity and call it a day.

The Songs
1. All Star by Smash Mouth
This song played at every single one of my school assemblies and I still never got tired of it because HEY NOW, YOURE AN ALL STAR.
2. Hey Ya! by OutKast
3. Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield
I’ve been listening to this song on repeat tbh and it makes me feel better.
4. Dirty Little Secret by The All-American Rejects
THIS SONG IS AMAZING AND I LOVE IT AND THE MUSIC VIDEO AND I AM SO HAPPY.
5. The Middle by Jimmy Eat World
Okay so if I am venturing into my angsty teen phase, like this song is a really nice and positive in someways BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS GONNA BE ALRIGHT.
6. A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton
This one is a cult classic and is gonna go down in the books. DON’T @ ME.
7. Love Song by Sara Bareilles
Everyone and their mom loves this song but like also, it has a really cool story behind it and its a fun beat and I am gonna make someone play it at my funeral.
8. Sk8er Boi by Avril Lavigne
I’d be a fake if I didn’t have any old school Avril on here before she turned into MELISSA.
9. Check Yes Juliet by We The Kings
I am at the point where I am just realizing that I am never gonna get my fav songs from my fav decade in this fucking list so NOW I AM SCRAMBLING TO MAKE SURE AT LEAST SOME of my favs are on it. Wow this is hard.
10. Everytime We Touch by Cascada
11. Hips Don’t Lie by Shakira
My name is an anagram for Shakira and Hips Don’t Lie is all I listened to in 5th grade.
12. Don’t Stop the Music by Rihanna
There was a period of time where I only knew the chorus and no idea who sang is and that was a rough point in my life.
13. I’m Like a Bird by Nelly Furtado
I am not sure I actually listened to this as much last decade but it was my anthem during my last trimester of college last year.
14. Boom Boom Pow by The Black Eyed Peas
15. Mr. Brightside by The Killers
This song was basically my vibe for the summer of 2017 and anyone who spend anytime with me can attest to me randomly bursting out into “GETTING OUT OF MY CAGE AND IVE BEEN DOING JUST FINE”
16. Potential Breakup Song by Aly & AJ
Does anyone know where they went?
17. Dance, Dance by Fall Out Boy
My list would be sorely incomplete without my fav pop rock nerds.
18. I Write Sins Not Tragedies by Panic! At the Disco
19. Halo by Beyoncé
This song is the perfect way to end any night in any decade.
20. Since You’ve Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson
This playlist is sorely lacking, I know. There are some of my fave 2000s songs I couldn’t cram into here but I tried to feature some of my fav artists once.
Hope you enjoy the playlist! Lemme know what your fav 2000s jam is (IF YOU CAN CHOOSE JUST ONE.)
One of the worlds oldest libraries, it was founded by a woman in the ninth century and hosts some of the rarest texts known to us. It was also restored by a woman which makes it doubly as cool.
2. Bibliotheca Alexandrina (Egypt)
I think as bookworms, we can all agree we would lose our shit if the remains of the Ancient Library of Alexandria were found but in the mean time, this awesome library that they build to commemorate it is noteworthy. It was also a $220 million project so…
3. Library of Congress (United States)
I know its kind of cliche to have this library on this list but I truly think that the Library of Congress is a bucket-list item and absolutely stunning.
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! And happy Wednesday if you don’t give a flying fart about Valentine’s Day. I don’t really care one way or another but I always find that Valentine’s Day is a great day to curl up with a romance and just treat yourself to something fun! Like most people, I have my favorite tropes and I definitely can be sold on many a novel if the trope is a thing I like! So. Today. I’ve put together a mini guide on reading some romance books by the trope featuring some of my fav tropes and other tropes I know people like. I spent a LOT of time putting this guide together (probably like 10 hours all together?) so I REALLY do hope you’ll enjoy it! I also…
Recent discussions in this community have been about how we don’t have enough books out there that reflects the experience of the average new-adult person. There are some facets of this discussion I disagree with (which might be a post for another day) but, I think we can all agree the more the better. Everyone deserves to have their experiences reflected in the books they read. So, today, I’ve compiled a list of 15 books with characters who are either in college or are college-aged. Some of these were marketed as YA and some as cross-over. Some of these just came out and others have been out for a while.
1. Let’s Talk About Love by Claire Kann
Let’s Talk About Love pretty much has it all. Anxiety about choosing…
Last year, I attempted to do a monthly round up of diverse books out and somewhere along the way I stopped doing that. I am going to try to get back on the horse though because the feature was always a great way for me to discover new books as well as help you discover new books! When I curate these roundups, I try to make sure I don’t miss anything and try to make sure I don’t include anything with bad rep. Let me know if something slips by me though!
Any of these on your TBR? What are you most looking forward to diving into??
It is NO LONGER 2017 but that doesn’t mean you cannot revisit the past and read some amazing books that came out last year. This list is based on what I’ve read and still isn’t entirely complete because I HAVEN’T READ SO MANY BOOKS that came out last year. I also wanted to narrow it down so as not to dump too many books on your tbr! The following is a list of some of the best books out in 2017 in my opinion. Looking for a book to make that will make you cry, or at the very least, make you FEEL? These books might have something in store for you. Just as an FYI, all of these books involve death.
2018 is gonna be a good year for books. Maybe. Hopefully. As long as these books I need more than cake don’t let me down. Otherwise, its gonna be a bad year for books and I am calling quits.
1. Meet Cute: Some People Are Destined to Meet
Who doesn’t want a story about cute meet cutes? I DO. PLEASE GIVE IT TO ME. I WANT IT.
2. My So-Called Bollywood Life by Nisha Sharma
I am here for a Bollywood rom-com in literary form. That is all. I came out of the womb ready for this.
3. Royals by Rachel Hawkins
I’ve read 7/8 of Rachel Hawkin’s books so you bet your ass I am dying to read Royals. You’re lucky you didn’t have to hear me scream when the…
As I grow older, the more fond I become of reading non-fic and in particular, celebrity memoirs. Even just two years ago, I would have gagged at the thought of me picking up a memoir to read and yet here we are. I’ve started spending MONEY on them. I am a wild child. Anyway, here is a list some of the non-fic (all celeb memoirs) that I’ve been eyeing and wanting to read lately!!
1. Born a Crime by Trevor Noah
When young Trevor Noah took over on the Daily Show for Jon Stewart, I was over the moon. At some point, even if you love them, you get tired of listening to 50yo white men. He was a fresh new voice and I’ve really enjoyed the show. His…
Giselle is a wife and mother who lives on books and coffee - what else is there?
She's known to be sarcastic and rarely serious. She loves reading books, blogging
about books, chatting about books, and smelling books. Although YA is her current
favorite she has a wide variety of genres that she enjoys. She likes her characters
bad-ass, her plots full of action and her fair share of gore - though she will
indulge in a chick-lit here and there. In short, she'll read anything. She's
also the mind behind Xpresso Book Tours.
Rashika
Rashika has been tired since 2013. There are very few things that spark joy for her besides a nice cup of tea, warm, baked goods, good books and good TV shows. She is here to pile onto your giant TBRs and to-watch lists. Offer her a cookie and she might be nice to you.
