Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event that is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine and spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

My pick this week:

Waiting on Wednesday (87)Pawn by Aimee Carter
Series: The Blackcoat Rebellion #1
Published by Harlequin Teen on November 26th 2013
Genres: Dystopia, YA
Goodreads

For Kitty Doe, it seems like an easy choice. She can either spend her life as a III in misery, looked down upon by the higher ranks and forced to leave the people she loves, or she can become a VII and join the most powerful family in the country.

If she says yes, Kitty will be Masked—surgically transformed into Lila Hart, the Prime Minister's niece, who died under mysterious circumstances. As a member of the Hart family, she will be famous. She will be adored. And for the first time, she will matter.

There's only one catch. She must also stop the rebellion that Lila secretly fostered, the same one that got her killed …and one Kitty believes in. Faced with threats, conspiracies and a life that's not her own, she must decide which path to choose—and learn how to become more than a pawn in a twisted game she's only beginning to understand.

I know, I know, it’s a dystopian, but it’s so hard to break the habit and it sounds so good! >.<

Nice! This book sounds wonderful! I love books where a character pretends to be someone else and having a character challenged with going against her own beliefs. Superb choice!

Giselle, I’m pretty sure we’re all still hooked on dystopians! I think it’s really cool that Aimee Carter is writing out of her comfort zone, but this one really does sounds good! Awesome pick this week, Giselle!

  3. Ellen

Dystopian novels have been kind of hit and miss for me over the last year or so, but this one sounds like it has potential. Nice pick.

  4. Alice

There is always something about dystopians that will keep pulling us in, and this one really does sound amazing! Great choice Giselle! <3

  5. Tammy

This sounds so good! I agree, I’m getting a bit burned out on dystopians, but some of them are so awesome. I’d take a chance on this one:)

    Here’s my WOW.

I’m really hoping I love the main character in Pawn more than I did Kate from TGT series. I’m not worried about the writing or world building. Aimee Carter knows how to do both of those quite well. Plus the plot sounds awesome. Still not liking the mc will worry me until I physically start the book and see for myself.

  7. Tanja

I haven’t read the other series by this author but everyone say that she’s great. I’ll probably read this one to see 🙂 Great pick Giselle 🙂

  8. Aman

I wasn’t a fan of the author’s previous series but this one does sound good. Plus, I love the title and how accurate it is for the story. Great pick!

LOL. I really hope this will break that dystopian curse for you 😀 The cover is awesomesauce *stares* and the synopsis sounds alluring, indeed. Want want want!

I actually just saw this one for the first time yesterday! It does sound really good and I’m glad you’re not giving up on dystopians yet, who else would read all the ones I’m curious about?! >.< Great pick, hope you get it soon & love it!
