Good morning, EVERYONE! I know there might be some of you who might be wondering why I am doing a blog post about voting but tomorrow is election day in the US and a significant number of our readers are from the US. So, here I am!!!!
Tomorrow is a big day. Many of us are going to spend all day tomorrow staring at a number of screens as our anxieties build and we wonder if there is any hope left. I know that for the most part, anyone who is reading this and can vote, will be voting and anyone who is reading this and isn’t planning on voting will unlikely to be swayed by this post but in the face of extreme helplessness, I feel like this is the least I can do.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, if you can vote, please do so. It is important not just for your town, city, county, state or country. It is important that you vote for the world. Think I am exaggerating? I am not. I wish I was, but I am not. The people you vote for have a say in a number of policies that would determine the US’s stance on key global issues (like climate change) and determine the kind of relationships the US has with the world around it.
Here are a couple reminders:
-If you’re in line before the poll closes, don’t leave the line! You’re allowed to vote!
-If for whatever reason, your name isn’t on the voter roll or is spelled differently, you are allowed to ask for a provisional ballot! THEY CANNOT STOP YOU FROM VOTING.
There are tons and tons and tons of other helpful information out there if you need it but I thought the above two reminders were especially important. If I can help supplement any info, please let me know! I am rooting for the world and hoping civilization as we know it doesn’t crumble.
